With Summer’s end slowly coming closer and what better companion to take to your last trip to the beach than a bluetooth speaker so you can blast your music away while enjoying the sun with your friends. To help you with that we decided to review the low-cost LoHi Bluetooth Speaker so that you can bring all that fun with you for a fraction of the price. For $17 you get an irregular hexagon which gives the speaker a quite sleek build and a sporty look, something that many people are looking for in tech products these days. The full matte color schemes complete the great look these speakers have and red is our personal favorite because of the bold red and black contrast. However, if this doesn’t appeal to you, LoHi also sells their bluetooth speakers in a solid black and cyan color.

In terms of durability, the build of the Lohi Bluetooth Speaker is quite sturdy with plastic faces and a rubber body. The rubber feet on the bottom of the speakers allow it to stay well on any desk surface. The 10-meter (32 ft) range makes this the ideal speakers for the outdoors because you don’t have to worry about staying close to the speaker while playing sports, moving things around, etc. And since they are made for outdoor activities, the speakers are IPX4 water resistant meaning they can take a bit of rain and splashes. The small nature of the device makes it very portable and it can fit into almost any backpack pocket so that you can take it with you wherever you go. It is clear that in terms of design, the LoHi Bluetooth Speaker was made to be used outdoors and they were designed well.

Using the speaker is easy. The bluetooth pairing is easy and pretty self-explanatory. Just press the power button and select the device from your bluetooth menu. The speakers pair instantaneously and are immediately ready to play music. We were able to get about 9-11 hours of playback out of the speakers per charge and this will easily last a day or two even with heavy use. Again, for the price of the speakers, this is quite mind blowing. The button layout is easy and composes of a power, volume up, and volume down button. The buttons are high quality as well and should survive after a lot of presses years down the road. While cheap speakers usually distort at higher volumes, we didn’t find the Lohi Bluetooth Speaker to have this problem. Charging is also quite easy with the micro USB input since it is universal and a cable is included in the box. However, LoHi did not include a wall adapter so be sure to supply your own.

With its IPX4 water resistant rating, sturdy build quality, and great range (10m/32ft), outdoors are really where this speaker shines. Sure, the speaker isn’t going to be winning any awards or medals, but for just $17 you are getting a speaker that is much better than the price suggests. If you are looking for a cheap but still decent speaker to use on that upcoming, last-minute vacation you got planned, this is the one for you.
